It is truly difficult for us to face the truth that education, as we know it, does more harm than good. Today the word education means something quite different then what it means in the dictionary. Instead of being an intelligent procedure where learning takes place, it is a hostile and dangerous process that abuses and hurts our children. Schools, instead of creating ideal conditions for learning, create perfect environment for the retardation of learning. Students themselves are feeling the wrongness of education. As they get older they are seeing with clearer eyes the ridiculousness of their studies.

No matter what tests show, very little of what is taught
in schools is learned, very little of what is learned is remembered, and very little of what is remembered is used.
                                                                  John Holt

What you are about to read will annihilate the very idea of forced curriculum and the boredom of the structured classroom that delivers it. Einstein Galileo  represents a deep shift at the very core of the educational process. A change that will shake the foundations of the educational world. A change that will sweep away the old torturous ways of learning and the deep levels of fear, anxiety and depression it causes in students. Einstein Galileo brings nothing less then the true emancipation of children.

Today anyone with a heart knows that schooling must be enjoyable for it to be effective. Children must be taught a total love of learning for it to be fun. "Monotonous and uninteresting classes repel students and make it unpleasant to learn." says Seymour Papert Co-founder of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT. And he goes on to say that "The possibility of freely exploring worlds of knowledge call into question the very idea of an administered curriculum."

The Einstein Galileo School represents a quantum leap forward in education and it is perfectly suited to the digital age. Instead of curriculum we will have “education by mode of learning.” How we learn, who we learn from, how much we love the process, the flow of it all, and the result is what is important. We list 37 different modes in 16 major categories that children can choose from to explore their interests. From reading to surfing the Internet, writing email, multimedia studies, emotional and social education, film and video, story telling, etc., there are so many ways that have deep appeal that will draw the hearts of children into a true love of learning. The absolute worst mode of learning, which is really no way to learn at all, is Television. Close behind the TV in educational efficiency is the typical classroom.

It is no psychological secret that a child who wants to know something strives to learn and understand, remembers what they have learned, and uses what has been gained. What students are forced to learn they forget quickly. The prime directive of Einstein Galileo is to find each students passion for learning. Find and guide each child along a path that shines of their love of learning what they want to learn in ways that work best for them.

The foundation of the Einstein Galileo School rests on top of revolutionary insights gained through a multiple view of intelligence. By clearly characterizing the many mansions of human experience we have designed an educational approach that will bring out the latent talents and enthusiasm for learning in each student. We will accomplish this by establishing an art and science of “blending intelligence in education.” This means our school will pay attention to physical, social, intellectual, emotional, conceptual, intuitive, and imaginative levels of teaching and learning. Our open approach addresses the whole student not just the intellectual and conceptual parts. Though we intend to use modern computer technology in a new and creative way, in our schools we will not forget the vulnerable being living inside of each student. For we need to be highly aware that:

Students who are anxious, fearful, angry,
depressed or bored do not learn.
There is no way to force or coerce children to learn
without making them afraid and secretly resentful.

With our hearts clearly on the emotional pulse of our children, we will open people's imaginations to the true use and function of computers in learning. “Computers used as mentors can offer a personal side to education that has been impossible even with the full wiring of the classroom in America,” says Fred Bennett. Einstein Galileo supports the idea that the computer will be the main teacher (in many but not all areas) for our children and that human teachers will step “forward” into facilitator and advisory roles where they can again become true teachers. “Until now, computers have failed to dramatically change education where as they have revolutionized many other important fields. Computers and now the Internet have taken major positions in the world because of their superior capabilities. They can do many things more effectively then humans without them” says Bennett; and they also have the ability to actually amplify certain aspects of human intelligence.

We have computers now to store all the information. Students in the future need not concentrate on remembering,
they must endeavor to truly understand.

Instead of boring classroom instruction we will put the computer into the center of the educational process and teachers will move onto the periphery where their role will change completely. Einstein Galileo will free the teachers from their usual duties and let computers teach students without an intermediary human instructor. This step will permit teachers to use their talents and dedication in other more productive manners.

The citizen of tomorrow needs to think critically and strategically and be able to solve problems in a rapidly changing environment. It is crystal clear that the slow paced, low-level, low content, standardized method of traditional education will not prepare our children for the 21st century. To be successful in the future students will need to learn in rapid educational conditions, build knowledge taken from numerous sources and different perspectives, and learn crucial knowledge about the self.

Students who are anxious, angry,
depressed or bored do not learn.

Daniel Goleman, author Emotional Intelligence, said that "perhaps the most disturbing single piece of data in my book comes from a massive survey of parents and teachers which shows a worldwide trend for the present generation of children to be more troubled emotionally than the last: more lonely and depressed, more angry and unruly, more nervous and prone to worry, more impulsive and aggressive. If there is a remedy, I feel it must lie in how we prepare our young for life. At present we leave the emotional education of our children to chance, with ever more disastrous results. One solution is a new vision of what schools can do to educate the whole student, bringing together mind and heart in the classroom. I can foresee a day when education will routinely include essential human competencies such as self-awareness, self-control, and empathy, and the arts of listening, resolving conflicts, and cooperation."

Einstein Galileo Schools will pay attention to physical, social, intellectual, emotional, conceptual, intuitive, and imaginative levels of education.

There is no doubt in many peoples minds today that
traditional modes of learning just do not work anymore.

"Schools will either change very radically or simply collapse."

Seymour Papert
Co-founder of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT

We offer a  beautiful dream of a future where teacher/mentor/tutor and student enter into a true partnership and adventure in learning. We champion an educational system free from the insanity of forced memorization of useless data as we enter the digital age of constant and interactive communication. The students of today must learn to integrate their digital lives with face to face reality and put it all together to create a highly intensive and creative educational environment.

If you are interested in joining our efforts to revolutionize education please contact us. We are open to all levels of participation, contributions both intellectual and financial.

We offer a virtual mentor/tutor program for children and adults and are set up to help home school parents become affective teacher/mentors of their kids. Write for more details.
